The Cocoa Research Centre (formarly Cocoa Research Unit) is based in Trinidad and is a department in the Faculty of Science and Agriculture of The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, and is a campus centre of The University of the West Indies. Its research activities include germplasm conservation, morphological and molecar characterization of cocoa accessions, screening of germplasms for resistance to diseases, germplasm enhancement, and quality and flavour assessment. CRC is responsible for maintenance of the International Cocoa Genebank.
