The prevalence of dangerous or exploitative labour practices in cocoa growing, amongst both adults and children, is recognized as a major problem. ICI was established to support the prevention and elimination of these practices. ICI is a collaborative effort, between industry, labour unions and civil society, that seeks to better understand the problem and to tackle its root causes at community level. ICI also works to put in place the national and international systems and policies needed to trigger and sustain social change.
