OxfamNovib, The Netherlands gained success with its Groene Sinterklaas campaign aimed at banning wrong chocolate from the supermarket shelves. In The Netherlands Sinterklaas (Saint Nicholas) , patron saint of children, sailors, and the city of Amsterdam, is celebrated on 5th of December and traditionally letters of chocolate are being given to the children. At the end of 2009 The Green Sint wanted to pay attention to the situation of cocoa farmers. At that time 15% of all chocolate letters sold in The Netherlands were sustainably produced. By the end of 2010 this number increased to 95%, so sustainable chocolate letters are gaining ground.
