European Chocolate and Cocoa Industry : committed to cocoa farming families

This is a website of the Association of chocolate, biscuit and confectionery industries of the European Union. For the companies that use cocoa, the way forward is clear: help the cocoa farming family thrive. Their efforts are focussed on three strands of activity including economic development, promoting responsible labour practices and education. They reach out to farmers to help them understand the dangers of allowing children to perform certain tasks. We then teach them safe, responsible labour practices. At the same time, we provide help for children identified to be at great risk or potentially exploited. We have been working for years to improve children's access to education. We work with cocoa communities as a whole to teach sustainable and modern farming techniques to help them harvest more so they can earn more.
