To share, meet and learn for sustainable cocoa

transparency

Transparency in the cocoa chain is often mentioned in combination with sustainability, corporate social responsibility and other initiatives to make the cocoa value chain more fair for all actors, especially the farmers. Traceability of cocoa is one way of making the cocoa chain more transparent, and therefore more sustainable.

Food for thought

In June 2010, the International Cocoa Organization  (ICCO) hosted a meeting where key actors in the industry signed a pact to make the cocoa industry more fair and sustainable. The International Cocoa Agreement outlines objectives for a more sustainable economy and measures to improve the transparency of the cocoa market.
